Real Families Building Real Financial Futures

Our students aren't just learning theory. They're creating practical investment strategies, building diversified portfolios, and teaching their own families about financial independence. These are their stories and their actual work from our 2024-2025 cohorts.

What Students Actually Learned

Completed Fall 2024

I thought investing was this mysterious thing only finance people understood. Turns out it's just being methodical and patient. My final project was a diversified portfolio that my husband and I actually use now. We started with index funds and gradually added some individual stocks after really understanding what we were doing.

Completed Winter 2025

The project-based approach made everything click. Instead of just memorizing concepts, I built an actual investment plan for my family's education savings. We've been following it for four months now and it feels completely manageable. My kids even ask questions about how compound interest works.

Completed Spring 2025

Best part was working through real scenarios with other families. We shared what worked and what didn't. My capstone project focused on balanced risk for families with single incomes, which is exactly my situation. I've recommended this program to three other parents already.

How Students Progress Through Projects

Our project timeline mirrors real investment planning. You build skills progressively while creating something your family can actually use.

1

Foundation Assessment

First month focuses on understanding your family's current financial situation. You'll map out income, expenses, and existing assets. Nothing fancy here, just honest evaluation of where you're starting from.

2

Goal Definition Project

Months two and three are about clarifying what you're actually investing for. Education? Retirement? Emergency buffer? Students create specific, measurable goals with realistic timelines. This becomes the foundation for everything else.

3

Portfolio Design Workshop

Middle of the program, you start building your actual investment strategy. This takes about two months because we go slow and make sure you understand every decision. Students research different asset types and create their first allocation model.

4

Implementation and Review

Final phase is putting your plan into action with small amounts first. You'll practice rebalancing, tracking performance, and adjusting as life changes. Most students continue refining their projects even after the program ends.
